Open-door nights get loud and then they get bad. Someone breaks a glass and nobody knows their name. The music gets requested into mush. The host spends the evening as security.
Saying no is hospitality. It is how a chef protects a pass and how a DJ protects a floor. someday.living is built so hosts can decline without a speech.
If you get a no
It might be capacity. It might be vibe. It might be that they already have two people who bake and they needed a person who will wash down the station. Apply again to a different listing. Do not argue the first one in email.
If you are the host
Decline fast. A slow maybe is rude. Confirm the people who will make service sing. You are not a charity for FOMO. You are putting on a night.
Guests: write a why that makes no unnecessary. Hosts: keep the room small enough that you can still see who is in it. That is the whole brand.
