Group chats are where nights go to die. If the listing has two seats, take one and offer the other to the friend who actually answers. If it has one seat, take it. Solo is not brave. Solo is efficient.
Hosts would rather have one person who wrote a real why than a squad that will arrive late and ask where the ring light can go.
Going with someone
Apply together only if you will both do the work. A someday day is a poor setting for a plus-one who wanted brunch. A pop party can hold a pair if the host sized it that way. Say so in the why: names, relationship, why this night is yours together.
Going alone
You will be seated next to people who also wrote sentences. That is a better icebreaker than a mixer sticker. You can leave when the night ends without a committee.
The calendar will never be perfect. Pick a listing and decide in the next ten minutes. Later is how you get another year of saved posts.
