Event nights: the clock is part of the ticket

Tastings and showcases start. Travelers who “pull up in 40” miss the point and the first pour.

An event has a start time because the food, the talk, or the set is sequenced. You are not dropping into a club. You are taking a seat in a story.

Before

Eat a little if the tasting is small. Tell allergies in the why. Screenshot the address. Build a buffer for traffic so you are not the person the room waits on.

At the table

Phones down during pours and talks. Ask questions that show you read the listing. Do not hold court about other cities’ better versions. Do not rearrange the seating to film.

After

If there is a chance to thank the host, do it in one sentence. Ratings can wait until morning. The people who get invited back are the ones who made the timing easy.

Events that are still taking whys — apply only if you can keep the clock.
